Updates

First off let me just apologize for being MIA in blog land.  Life has been so super crazy and I'm working really hard to try and find a balance.  My life was already completely full and so busy and then I added a boyfriend in the mix and it just seems that there are never enough hours in the day.  I'm really trying to reevaluate my priorities and focus on the things that are truly important to me.  And some things that took up my time before are just having to take a back seat at the moment.  Unfortunately blogging and reading others blogs hasn't been at the top of my list and I've totally slacked off in that area.  But my health is definitely towards the top of my list and writing and reading blogs is one way I stay motivated so I definitely want to keep up with it.  I just may have to limit my time reading other blogs and comment as I can.  So I'm sorry that I haven't kept up with you all like I used to.  I have over 700 unread blog posts in Google Reader, I am so behind!  So I won't be able to catch up on all of those blogs, but I will get better about reading and commenting when I can.  If anything has happened that I missed in your life, please let me know!  I feel like I'm missing out on so much in all or your lives!  Leave me a comment or send me an email and catch me up on your life!  Let me know how I can support you or if I can be praying for you about anything.

So here are some updates to catch you up on everything that has been going on in my life.

Weight Loss - so things are going pretty good on the weight loss front.  I've been participating in a weight loss challenge and that has definitely helped to keep me on track.  The last couple of weeks, I have been holding steady at 172.0 and haven't lost as much as I wanted but I have still lost and haven't gained so that's a really good thing!  I know I've talked about this before, but I really thrive on routine.  When I'm home and plan my meals and my workouts I do really well, but I tend to make not so great choices when I'm out of that routine.  I have been gone so much and have had zero free time this last month so it's been really hard.  I'm working on figuring out how to make good food choices when I have no control over planning out my meals and still trying to get workouts in when I can't seem to find the time.  It hasn't been easy, but I know I will get there!  I will never give up and know that I will reach my goal!

Relationship - So things are going really well with Michael.  We've been officially dating for over a month now and are having so much fun together!  In the month that we've been dating we celebrated both of our birthdays, he has met my family and I have met his, and we've gone on tons of fun dates together!  Things are going great and we are both really serious about where our relationship is headed. We both put God as the first priority in our life and want to honor Him.  We love spending time together and have so much in common.  I haven't found anything that I don't like about him.  So things are going really good in that department.  But like I said, because we have been spending so much time together and talking so much even when we are not together, I am trying to make sure I still am able to do all the things that are important to me like being healthy, serving at my church, and spending time with my friends and family.  So far, I feel like I've done a pretty good job at juggling everything, but I will just keep working at it.  Michael started coming to church with me and has been there the last 4 weeks so that has been fun to have him there with me.

Surgery - I decided to go ahead and schedule my surgery.  I'm not sure if it's because they are getting bigger or because I'm losing more weight, but I'm starting to feel the fibroids more now.  It's sometimes hard to sleep on my stomach because I can feel pressure on my stomach.  Also, the doctor said that I need to have the surgery at least one year before I want to have kids and since I have no idea what the timing will look like on that, my doctor and I discussed it and decided that it's best to go ahead and take care of them.  I'm 32 now, so I do want to have kids sooner than later.  There are 2 large fibroids that they are going to remove.  One is the size of an avocado and one is the size of a lemon.   I will be having surgery to remove them on October 3rd.  The surgery is laparoscopic so the recovery will probably be very similar to that with getting the lap-band.  Hopefully the recovery will actually even be a little easier since I weigh 92 pounds less than I did then.  Just getting out of bed should be easier (hopefully).  I do have to stay in the hospital one night, but hopefully I'll be feeling back to myself before I know it.

Trips - So in the course of 1 month, I am having surgery and taking 2 trips.  It seems like a lot, but I will be glad to go on the trips and thankful to have the surgery over with.  I leave for Chicago on September 27th to meet up with lots of my weight loss blogger friends!  I'm so excited to see some people again and to meet lots of people for the first time that I talk with on a regular basis!  It should be tons of fun.   I get back on the 30th and then have my surgery three days later.  Then 2 weeks after my surgery, I'm flying to New Orleans to celebrate my friend Jenia's bachelorette party.  So I have a crazy month coming up, but all fun/good things.

Braces - I went to the orthodontist this last Friday and found out that my braces will be able to come off several months earlier than we originally anticipated...yay!!!  They will be off by March of next year at the latest.  We are just moving one more tooth a tiny bit and I will be done!  I'll be so glad for that to be over with.

Photography - So in the midst of everything else that's been going on, I've been working on starting my photography business.  Jen has been helping me with my website and logo and I have been taking pictures.  I'm not putting tons of work into it at the moment, but doing things as I can.  I love taking pictures and I think it's a fun way to make some extra money.  If you want to check out my photography blog and follow it, you can go to http://www.photographybyandrealeigh.com/.  The link to join my site is at the very bottom of the page.  You can also like my photography page on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PhotographyByAndreaLeigh.  I still have so much to learn, but I'm getting better and it's such a fun hobby and part-time job!

Work - Things have been going really good with work.  Staying really busy and just trying to get as much done as I can before I have to take time off because of my trips and my surgery.

Sophie - I have been loving spending time with my niece Sophie.  She seriously gets bigger every time I see her!  She's over a month old now and just gets cuter every day :).

I think that is about all of the updates that I have.  I'm sure there are tons of things that I forgot about, but those are the big things.

Hope you all are doing well!
