New Scale

This week I decided to buy a new scale.  It was kind of an impulse buy.  My old scale was working okay, but it stopped measuring body fat and recognizing different users.  So I decided to get the Fitbit Aria scale, thinking that if I didn't like it that I could take it back.

The Fitbit Aria scale connects with your home wireless network and every time you weigh, it automatically uploads your weight, body fat %, and BMI to the Fitbit Dashboard.  Since I use the Fitbit site all the time anyway, I thought this was a really cool feature and an easy way to keep track of my weight.

So far I love it!  I love that all my weight info goes directly to the website and they have all kinds of cool graphs to measure your progress.  They have an app that you can use as well and you never have to input your weight.

I weighed myself on my old scale and the new one several times and they were the exact same weight, so that's good.  I'll let you all know what I think after I've been using it for a while.

*All images are from the fitbit website and the opinions are completely my own. Fitbit is not paying me or giving me free products.*

  1. How do you like the Fitbit? I'm looking into it, and would like to hear what you like about it and what you don't. I saw the scale yesterday and was interested if it was worth the money. I'de love to hear your thoughts.

    1. I love my fitbit! I wear it every day. I used to not use it as much because I didn't want to track my calories there and in my fitness pal (which I liked a lot better) but since they are integrated now, I use it all the time. Also my roommates both have them so it's made me competitive and want to walk more steps than them :) I wrote another post about it back in March: http://www.andreasweightlossjourney.com/2012/02/my-fitness-pal-and-fitbit.html

    1. I bought mine at Best Buy. They only carried white in the store, but they have the black one online.

  3. Interesting...I didn't know they had a scale. I like the fact that it interfaces with the FitBit site. But I have a question...do you use a FitBit? The reason I asked is that I noticed in an earlier post that it looked like you had a HRM watch on. Which do you find easier/more accurate? I've used a BodyBugg off and on for the past year but it recently stopped working and I'm wondering if I want to switch to the FitBit or just go buy a HRM.

    1. I actually use both. I guess if I had to pick between the two, I would choose the fitbit. I use it every day and it's really been helping me. I love the fact that's integrated with my fitness pal since I already track all my calories there anyway. I do like using the heart rate monitor occasionally to ensure my calories burned is accurate. Since my body is changing so fast I could burn a certain amount of calories and then the next month do the same workout and it be a lot different. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have more questions.
