Breast Cancer Awareness - My Personal Experiene

I loved this picture because it has a double meaning for all of us blogging banded sisters! :)

Back in March I had a little scare with finding a lump in my breast.  I went to the doctor and he sent me to have a mammogram and an ultrasound.  They found something, but weren't too concerned about it.  They told me because it hurt when you touched it, that it wouldn't be cancerous.  The ones that are cancerous, do not hurt.  My doctor wanted me to see a breast surgeon about having it removed but later decided that we would wait six months and check it again.

So yesterday I went in for another mammogram and it was gone!  Woohoo!!!  No surgery needed!  Hopefully losing 50 pounds has helped with that!  They told me I don't need to have another mammogram until I am 35.

I'm so thankful that I had a good outcome in this situation, but I know there are so many women who are struggling with cancer, or know someone who is.

Please be proactive with your health.  See your doctor and do self-examinations on a regular basis.  We have to take charge of our health and our bodies!  Love y'all!
