Weekly Weigh-In #13 / 3 Month Bandiversary

I lost 2.8 pounds this week...yay!!!  I was so excited about this since I gained .2 lbs last week and it was my birthday week!  So happy!

I did let myself have some treats for my birthday, but I tried to only have a little bit and still eat small amounts.  My workouts continued as normal with working out 3 times per week with cardio and weights and 2 times per week with yoga.  

Saturday was my 3 month bandiversary.  I've been so happy with my progress so far and I'm excited for what this next year holds for me!  I've lost 43.5 pounds so far (25 since surgery and an average of 2 pounds per week) and 25.25 inches!

Birthday Haul
My family and friends got me tons of great things for my birthday!  My parents and sister got me the purse and wallet, my brothers got me the watch, earrings, and perfume, my sister had some clothes from Old Navy shipped to me that she ordered from Honduras, and I got myself a new MacBook!!!  It was such an awesome birthday and I'm so thankful for everyone in my life (and not just for the presents)!

Sorry I've been a little MIA from the blogs this week.  I've have been going non-stop since Tuesday and just got back home from being out of town for the weekend.  I hope to catch-up on everyone's blogs tonight and start commenting again.

Secret Bandit Gift

Thanks so much for all your birthday wishes today!  I think this is going to be a great year!  Making the decision to have the lap-band surgery was the best birthday present I could have given myself!

Weekly Weigh-In #12

This week I had a gain of 0.2 pounds :( I've been working out every day this week and using 10 weight machines every time I work out so hopefully it's just a muscle gain.  I tracked all my calories and stayed right around 1200 every day along with working out, so I know that there is nothing more I could have done.  Hopefully the scale will make up for it next week.

My birthday is on Thursday, so I'm excited about that. I'll have to work really hard at making good eating choices this week, but still let myself indulge in a few treats.  

I've been kind of slacking on my blogging lately, it just feels like I don't have a whole lot to say.  Hopefully I'll get some inspiration soon and be back with something good.

Weekly Weigh-In #11

First of all I just want to say thank you so much for all your kind words this week!  It really meant the world to me.  You are all a huge reason why I was able to not turn to food for comfort and to stick to my goal of exercising.  I knew I would have to post on here and be accountable and that really helped me to stay on track.  You are all so thoughtful with your kind comments, emails and texts.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you!  I'm doing better and I'm trying to stay focused on the good things and not on the unanswered questions.  The funeral is on Monday, so I know that will be hard but it will be good.

The GREAT news is that I lost 1.2 pounds even though I had a bad week!  So that brings my total (with the pre-op diet in April) to 40.9 pounds.  YAY!!!!  I'm really excited that my hard work is paying off.  I made it a goal to workout more this week and I went to the gym 3 times for weights/cardio and did yoga twice.   As much as I really didn't want to workout this week, I forced myself to do it and I felt better after and I'm so glad I did it.

Last week I did good on working out but didn't do as good with my water and tracking my food.  I think because I've been eating about the same thing every day I kind of knew about how many calories that I was eating and just kind of slacked off.  So this week my three main goals are working out 5 times, plenty of water, and tracking my food. 

My roommates and I decided to order Ozarka home delivery and they are bringing the cooler on Monday.  I'm excited about this (it doesn't take much, haha) and I think it will help me to get all of the water that I need.

Weekly Weigh-In #10

Happy Friday!!

This week I weighed in at 225.6 for a loss of 1.4 pounds this week.  I am so happy with the loss!  I have been working hard eating right and exercising and every week it's paying off! I think that I'm just about at the level that I need to be with my band, if I'm not already there.  I'm not getting super hungry and my band lets me know when I've had enough or don't take small enough bites, but not too much where I can't get anything down. 

Thanks for all your feedback last week on your exercise routines!  I did yoga a couple times this week and I forgot how much I used to love it.  Right now, I will be happy with working out three times per week, but my goal is to get to 5-6 times per week.  I'm going to try mixing up working out at the gym doing cardio and weights and doing some videos/wii at home.

I've been wanting to get eyelash extensions for awhile and this new place opened up by me last week called The Lash Lounge.  So I decided to go for it when they sent me a discount.  It took about two hours and my eyes were so red afterwards. I think it was from the collagen patches they used on my lower lashes to hold them down and it really irritated my eyes. Overall I'm pleased with the results.  It's nice to go with no makeup and your lashes still look good!  I'll post some pictures (with no makeup).  I think they look great and still natural.  They look even better with makeup and mascara.  Excuse the messy eyebrows, they are getting waxed today!  You go in about every 3 weeks to get a fill and they just add more lashes where you have lost them.  So we'll see if I keep up with it, but it will be fun to have for my birthday month and for the wedding that I'm in next month.

I'm participating in the secret bandits and I got the information this week!  I'm super excited about it and think it will be lots of fun!  Robyn had posted some questions to help with ideas so I thought I'd post them here.
1) What is your size for shirts, pants, shoes, etc.?  Any size you are inclined to post.
Bottoms are really hard, but right now I'm between an 18/20.  Tops probably XL.  Shoes are size 6.
2) Do you prefer to read with an old fashioned book, own a Kindle, EReader, Nook, or other electronic book?
I like both.  I have an iPad so I have the Kindle and Nook apps, but I like good old fashion books too.
3) What are your top 3-5 hobbies?
Shopping, hanging out with friends, decorating.  Lately my hobbies are eating right and working out because that's all I have time for.
4) Do you have a favorite color?  If so, what is it?
5) What motivated you to lose weight?
Wanting to be healthy and not be limited in what I can do.  I realized I started not hanging out with friends or going to do fun things as often because I was embarrassed of my weight or had a hard time doing things.
6) For vacations do you prefer the beach or the mountains?
Definitely the beach!

I like to set mini goals for each week of things I need to work on.  I read a quote this week by Mark Twain that I thought was great.  He said "The secret of getting ahead is getting started.  The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable ones then starting on the first one".  In the past I wasn't able to stick with a diet long term because I would get discouraged with the amount of weight I needed to lose.  I think my focusing on daily and weekly goals helps rather than focusing on how far I still have to go.

So my goals for this week are: workout minimum of three days, get more water in, attend support group, track everything I eat.

2. What’s your all time favorite color to paint your nails? And your toes?

I would say red or dark pink.  Most of the time my fingernails don't have polish, but my toes always do.  I have to do bold colors because I'm so pale that light colors don't look good on me.

3. Do you get along with your parents well?

Yes!  I love my parents!  I talk to my mom on the phone almost every day and probably see them once a week.  They are so supportive of everything I do.

4. Speaking of rainbows – rank the rainbow colors in the order you prefer.

5. Repeat question. How was your week in real life and in blog land this week?
Real life:  had a great week.  Got a lot done and exercised/ate as planned this week.  
Blog land: so great and supportive as usual!  I've been having a mental block on things to write about, but I'm enjoying reading everyones blogs!
